Carling leaves Reading & Leeds

Old news but new to me, Carling will no longer be part of Reading and Leeds festival this year which will mean no 'Beer Amnesty' anyone who's ever used this will no doubt be giving it a 3 days sobriety in a mark of respect. No longer will anyone enjoy handing in a can of Tesco value finest for a cold carling.

Artists and fashion labels

Yesterday it was released that Avril Lavigine would be getting her own clothing line which will be going up for sale on July in the US. This comes after news that Amy Winehouse would be releasing her own clothing and cosmetic products and recently Pete Doherty turning down an offer to part of a fashion show, who in the past has worked with Gio Gio.

It's been questioned if artists really design these products or have any real say in the design. Now I'm not suggesting that Amy Winehouse should be sitting around learning how to make perfume but is this a case of labels leaching onto artists for sales? Well most likely as the same with the endless line of 'designer' products released by almost everyone now, including the delightful Kerry Katona straight out of finishing school and straight into the headlines, if you're not sure of her work check crazy in love I'm sure you'll fall for here straight away...

I've never been a fan of this idea that artists should be role models to kids, they don't owe it to anyone nor should they be expect to be squeaky clean but is it right that labels grab whoever is on the cover of NME and decide that they suddenly wear these clothes?

Online Streaming Music

In the last few years online music has really grown, finding new music and hearing a greater range of music of your own tastes has never been easier. So sites where you can come up with your own personal taste of music in a playlist is a easy way to hear what you want when you want.

Deezer.com is a site that I've grown to like a lot, after trying last.fm I found that most of the most of the music was either 30 second samples or badly recorded live versions. With Deezer you can listen to whole albums online for no cost and no restrictions.

NME Awards

In the world of blogging this already very old news but it's an easy blog so...

Comparing this year's award show to last, it didn't seem half as lively. Think everybody is FAR too cool to show any image that their happy to receive their award or even that they're there. That said no one seemed arrogant or what I prefer to call 'Doing a Donney Tourette'.

Though a couple of stories, Alexa Chung apparently was very ill during the awards bless her. And Kelly Osbourne was able to keep her families end up when it comes to swearing.

Anyway firstly bit of a new music.

Silvery - 'Horrors'

Bit of classic stereotypical indie.

The Breeders – CannonBall

It's not new but such a good tune! One of those songs your bound the hear but never know the title.

E-z rollers – Walk this land

Chances are again you've heard the tune, seen the movie but never know who or what.

Jools Hootenanny Isnt Live!?

Happy new years and all that, came home fairly early this morning about 00:45 just in time to see the end of the "HOOTENANNY!" to find out it isn't live after all.

Well getting all those celb's to spend their new years in a studio would cost a pretty penny, but with everything else going on with TV at the moment you might of thought they would of wanted to stay clear of any mischief. Though that said it was very well timed with the countdown and from the videos looked like a decent night.
